Synopsis
A stick is just a stick... unless it's not a stick.
From fishing rod to dragon-taming sword, a small pig shows that a stick will go as far as the imagination allows.
Antoinette Portis acptures the thrill of when pretend feels so real that it actually becomes reality. Her simple, spare text and illustrations show that seeing truly depends on the ability to believe in the possibilities.

Review
I like the way it keeps saying something about a stick and then when you turn the page the little pig says "it's not a stick" and you see a picture of little pig pretending the stick is something else. The words don't actually tell you what he is pretending the stick to be - you have to guess from the pictures!
I really like the end when little pig is asked what it is if it isn't a stick and he says: "It's my Not-a-Stick!".
This is a great book for toddlers with cute pitcures and not too many words.
