A frosty chill hangs over Enchantia because King Rat has turned his castle into an ice palace!  He's even turned all of his servants into ice sculptures.  Can Holly and the White Cat unfreeze his spells or will summer by banished forever?

About the Author

Darcey Bussell is a world famous Prima Ballerina.  She joined the Royal Ballet School when she was 13 and, despite starting later than most of the other students, became a Principal of the Royal Ballet at just 19, at the same time the youngets ballerina ever to be given this honour.  Darcey received both the OBE and CBE awards during her time with the Royal Ballet, and since officially retiring in 2007 she has teamed up with Katherine Jenkins in the phenomenally successful Viva la Diva.  She is married with two daughters.

Review

This is the seventeenth book in the Magic Ballerina series - and the fifth book about Holly's magical adventures in Enchantia.

I was really excited to discover that Holly was auditioning for a part in The Nutcracker because we're going to do a production of The Nutcracker at school later this year and I'm really hoping to get a lead role.  Although, ours won't be a ballet, but instead we're going to have lots of singing and just a little bit of dancing as not everyone at school can dance - especially not ballet.

I also enjoyed the fact that this story was set in winter as I've never seen snow but could imagine it whilst reading.

It did get a bit scary for a while as King Rat is so evil.  But in the end, Holly once again saved Enchantia and all was well.

Back in the real world, she was given a role in her dance school's production of The Nutcracker and best of all, her Mum was going to be home to see her on stage!
