Synopsis

Splat the cat is desperate to become friends with one of the girls at school!  But he's much too shy to talk to her.  However will he get her attention?

Perhaps Valentine's Day will provide the perfect opportunity?

About the Author

Rob Scotton studied at Leicester olytechnic.  He lives in Rutland with his wife, Liz, who is also an artist.  Rob only had to look out of his studio window to find the inspiration for his books about Russell the Sheep.  The rolling countryside surrounding his home is brimming with sheep, other wildlife, sheep, rural beauty and more sheep!

Review

Whether or not you subscribe to Valentine's Day celebrations, Love, Splat is a delightful picture book you and your littlies will enjoy sharing time and again.

Whilst most pre-schoolers and early readers are unfamiliar with the concept of secret crushes, they will still appreciate Splat's sensitivity and kindness.

Rob Scotton depicts his characters' personalities in humourous detail using monotone illustrations punctuated by vibrant colours.  Whilst the font perfectly compliments the playful narrative and quirky illustrations.

If you are a true romantic at heart and share your child's love of animals, Love, Splat is guaranteed to put a glow in your heart and smile on everyone's face.
