About the Author

Darcey Bussell is a world famous Prima Ballerina.  She joined the Royal Ballet School when she was 13 and, despite starting later than most of the other students, became a Principal of the Royal Ballet at just 19, at the same time the youngets ballerina ever to be given this honour.  Darcey received both the OBE and CBE awards during her time with the Royal Ballet, and since officially retiring in 2007 she has teamed up with Katherine Jenkins in the phenomenally successful Viva la Diva.  She is married with two daughters.

Review

This is the eight book in the Magic Ballerina series - and the second book about Rosa's magical adventures in Enchantia.

I was worried that Rosa would be turned into stone by the witch but I was pleased when she was able to free Skye.  I was also sad that Rosa thought she wasn't as brave as Delphie but I liked the way that Griff told her that she can be just as brave and as good as Delphie.

I didn't like the way Rosa's mum thought that her friends were feeling sorry for her because she was in a wheel chair.  So I was pleased that in the end Rosa was able to make her mum realise that she may be wrong about her friends and that it isn't good to just guess what other people are thinking.

The steps to "The Firebird's Flight" dance are really cool at the end of the book.
